Another newsletter?!

Thinking Things is the official newsletter of The Mighty Minds Club, a community for people who make (or would like to make) playful things ✨ to think with. We regularly share card decks, games, activities, canvases, maps, models, frameworks, toolkits, simulations, and similar tools that support collaboration, reflection, and understanding.

This newsletter began in 2022 as “Friday Finds”—a weekly post to a members-only community—where Stephen P. Anderson would curate and share five interesting things he’d come across that week. As of January 2024, we are leaving the closed-door community behind; moving forward, this curated content will be shared openly.

In the spirit of learning and trying new things, our online community is currently a “homeless” one—by design. We’re in-between centralized community platforms (Slack, Discord, Circle, LI, etc.), opting instead to explore a more decentralized approach to gathering. In 2024, this means more synchronous events, 1:1s, and the freedom to experiment with different social platforms for our small group ‘Creative Challenges’. Consequently, this email newsletter is the single, shared thread that keeps us all connected!

Sketch of a stick note person looking through what resemble a sheet of glass.Text reads: "How many different ways do you have to view the situation?" followed by a word cloud of the following words: "Toolkits. Stories. Charts. Canvases. Frameworks. Models. Diagrams. Games. Lenses. Frames. Simulations. Maps. Scenarios. Perspectives."
A rough sketch from 2020, that brought all this into focus.
